Overview:
- The CNC Machinist role will be responsible for supporting mold making activities & general machining requirements of the business. This includes designing & building fixtures, grinding and milling.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Operate CNC mills, lathes, grinders and/or mill turning centers
- Setting up parts for unattended cutting
- Ability to communicate job specific information via conversations, team meetings and note taking
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Perform timely, detailed inspections of parts through use of measurement tools and visual inspection
- Ability to break down a high level task into processing steps and perform the job
- Creating fixture designs and building them within budget
Required Skills & Abilities
- General computer skills
- Setup programs and make offset adjustments on CNC equipment
- Knowledge of basic machining practices, including conventional machining
- Basic understanding of G-Code programming
- Surfcam experience preferred
- Read and understand blueprints, general dimensions and tolerances
- Use inspection equipment and techniques
- Have own basic/ general tools
Education & Experience:
- Two – five years of general machining experience
- Five years plus preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical school diploma or equivalent
Salary: $25.00 – $29.00 / hour
